DEERFIELD BEACH, FL: People’s Trust Insurance proudly announced today that CEO and president, George W. Schaeffer, made a significant donation of $50,000 to the Broward Sheriff’s Office in support of the Terryson Jackson Memorial Golf Tournament. The fundraiser aims to aid in the construction of the Deerfield Beach Fallen Firefighter Memorial, honoring the legacy of Terryson Jackson, a dedicated firefighter whose life was tragically cut short in a helicopter crash on August 28, 2023.
Chief Jackson began his firefighting career in 2004 with the Deerfield Beach Fire Rescue before joining the Broward Sheriff’s Office Department of Fire Rescue. Known for his bravery, selflessness, and unwavering dedication, Chief Jackson left an indelible mark on his community, impacting countless lives throughout his career.
In honor of his passion for golf, the annual golf tournament hosted by the Broward Firefighters Benevolent Association has been renamed the Terryson Jackson Charity Golf Tournament. The event seeks to raise $500,000 for the construction of the Deerfield Beach Fallen Firefighter Memorial, which will be located at BSO Fire Station 102, at 1441 SW 11th Way in Deerfield Beach. The memorial will commemorate Chief Jackson’s exemplary career and dedication to public service.
Schaeffer’s generous donation underscores People’s Trust Insurance’s commitment to supporting the community and honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. “It’s a privilege to contribute to a cause that pays tribute to the bravery and service of Chief Terryson Jackson,” said Schaeffer. “His legacy will live on through this memorial, reminding us of his bravery and dedication to our community.”
