People’s Trust Insurance Sponsors FAU’s Executive Women in Leadership Program

on September 29, 2020

People’s Trust Insurance is delighted to be an official sponsor of Florida Atlantic University’s Women in Executive Leadership (WEL) program. Created by FAU’s College of Business, WEL provides business training with a focus on both the hard and soft skills women need to advance into top leadership roles.

The initiative is an excellent example of a program that aligns with People’s Trust’s goals and demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to education—and the future.

In discussing the company’s WEL sponsorship, Amy Rosen, People’s Trust Chief Marketing Officer, said: “Women make up half of the U.S. population, yet fill less than 20 percent of senior corporate leadership roles. The WEL program helps professional working women map their leadership journeys by focusing on skills such as networking, confidence building, decision-making, and critical thinking. Being a program sponsor allows People’s Trust to play an important part in advancing gender-inclusivity in C-level executive roles.”

Thanks to People’s Trust, one participant has been enabled to attend this fall’s program. Jaunai Walker, a healthcare sales and marketing account executive with Catholic Hospice, was selected from eight applicants to receive the scholarship.

The WEL program is an intensive 12-session course held live online beginning Saturday, Sept. 19 through December 12, 2020. Each participant will be granted an executive-level mentor and ongoing access to a monthly mastermind group made up of WEL graduates.

People’s Trust Chairman and CEO George W. Schaeffer understands the importance of education and the challenges brought on by the rising costs of learning materials. “We’ve long recognized the importance and value of continuing education to help prepare working professionals for new responsibilities and opportunities. It’s why People’s Trust invests in programs like WEL, which is committed to helping women advance into leadership roles. It’s rooted in People’s Trust strong culture of learning and knowledge sharing.”

In support of Schaeffer’s philosophy, People’s Trust and its affiliate, the Rapid Response Team, recently sponsored an employee essay contest that resulted in 44 families with children between the ages of 9-22 receiving laptop computers and printers. Another 15 employee families with college-bound students received $1,000 scholarships.

People’s Trust also proudly supports Tools for Schools, an annual fundraising effort to provide school supplies to teachers throughout Broward County, Florida, and they are year-round supporters of Take Stock in Children, which provides a unique opportunity for deserving low-income youth/students, many from minority families, to escape the cycle of poverty through education.
